The SIP Golden Autumn ? Three Lakes Carnival that recently kicked off in SIP is attracting more tourists to the area. To ensure a memorable experience for these guests, SIP recommends two travel routes that integrate the most sought-after attractions around the Jinji, Yangcheng and Dushu lakes.
For those planning a one-day tour, the route starting from the Gate of the Orient or Suzhou Center is recommended. In the morning, the travelers can take photos of the landmark buildings, visit the market full of creative products, sample local snacks, and board a boat at the wharf to visit the Taohua Island in the center of Jinji Lake.
In the afternoon, the travelers can try a Ferris wheel ride to enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of Jinji Lake from 128 meters up, and then go to West Lake Bay Ecological Sports Park to experience the amazing fusion of sports and nature, or go to the Suzhou Yangcheng Peninsula Theme Park to immerse themselves in a “time travel” from the ancient times to the future.
Suzhou Village, the last station of the day, provides diverse kinds of products and food, especially the Yangcheng Lake hairy crabs that are in season.
The two-day tour starts with a cycling tour around Yangcheng Lake. Visitors can have lunch at the Qianshuiwan Business Street, where the Yangcheng Lake hairy crabs are also served, and then visit the Archaeological Site Park of Caoxieshan in the afternoon to explore a 6,000-year history.
This route also leads to Suzhou Village and the Ferris wheel, in addition to the Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre and the 688 Arts & Fashion Space which are artistic and stylish.
On this route is also the Moon Harbor, a good place to experience local nightlife.
The second-day tour starts with a boat tour from Moon Harbor to Ligong Causeway, which is neighbored by the well-known Wall of Love, a replica of Le mur des je t’aime in Montmartre, France.
After over ten minutes’ drive, the travelers will reach Dushu Lake, by which the SIP Library boasts a unique architectural design and a vast collection of books. Both the Egret Garden and Moon Bay offer visitors chances to experience paddleboarding.
The last station is the lakeside campsite where concerts are staged on weekends throughout this autumn.
