The SIP Shengpu Sub-district Local Elderly Service Center was inaugurated on Oct 11 at a celebration of the Double Ninth Festival which, a traditional Chinese festival for the elderly, is reckoned on the ninth day of the ninth month on the Chinese lunar calendar and fell on the day.

The center is operated by Suzhou Industrial Park Elderly Care Industry Development Co Ltd which was founded in June under SIP’s plan of boosting “silver economy”, which incorporates economic activities that cater to senior citizens with tailored products and services.

The center is the third elderly care organization under the company’s Jiuling brand. A project of the same kind will come into operation in Weiting Sub-district and another one will start construction in Loufeng Sub-district over the following two months.

The center provides 150 beds, including 122 for the elderly in need of nursing care and 28 for others. It offers medical services in collaboration with Xingpu Hospital, and also nutritious meals and recreational experiences tailored for the aged.
