The exhibition themed “The Encounter of Silk Road and Grand Canal” attracted 131 exhibitors from 38 countries and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan of China, much more than those attending the last edition of the exhibition.

A total of 21 countries showcased characteristic cultural and tourist products in their pavilions at the exhibition. Italy, Japan, Thailand and Malaysia participated in the exhibition for the fourth time, and Romania, Poland, Cuba and Indonesia participated for the first time.

The Pavilion of France was decorated to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of China-France diplomatic ties, and the Pavilion of Italy held an exhibition to mark the 700th anniversary of the death of Marco Polo.

The Pavilion of Hungary held an exhibition to show “China in the eyes of Hungarian photographers”. The Pavilion of Ghana showcased exquisite wood carving works, woven works and other handicrafts.

The Jiangsu - Kazakhstan Characteristic Art Exhibition comprised 20 block prints from East China’s Jiangsu province and 20 oil paintings from Kazakhstan. The exhibits depict beautiful scenery and unique cultures of Jiangsu and Kazakhstan.

The Ministry of Tourism of Cuba, Hawaii Tourism Authority and a number of travel agencies, hotels and airlines based in Japan, Malaysia and other countries participated in the expo.
